Well, this was the first event for a while. it is great to see things getting back to some kind of normal, albeit with limited numbers of riders and shorter durations of races. it didn't deter the riders though, they were very competitive, which in turn kept us busy! to top it all, we came home to find this email waiting for us: "Just a message to say thank you so much for the care taken of my son at Salt Ayre bike races on Saturday 1st May. Professional care and did a great job. A guy called Harry and another woman treated him after a crash. Thank you" nice to see we haven't lost our touch. even nicer to be appreciated!

The Angels have just had a fantastic donation of 500.00 from the grandparents of one of our young Angels who, whilst working as a Summer temp at a company in Leyland helped save the life of a man who suffered a cardiac arrest. This is what they wrote on our Justgiving page: We should have been having a 65th wedding anniversary party this year. This is the money we would have spent but couldn't due to Covid. Ever grateful for training our grand daughter to use a defib. WOW! this is why we do what we do! Amazing stuff!

LIFESAVERS! We are extremely proud right now! we have just started delivering community training again. One of our first sessions was for the Young people at Wigan Warriors Academy. the session was based around Recovery Position, CPR, Use of a Defibrillator. Within a week of delivering the course, one of the young people suffered a Cardiac Arrest whilst waiting at a bus stop. Several others in the group started CPR and called the Ambulance. Yes, the young man survived and the Ambulance crew stated that if they had not attended the session, the outcome would have been very different! well done to all concerned...you are superheroes!

Our very own Gail Forrest has just been interviewed by Radio Lancashire due to being shortlisted for their Community Heroes Awards. Gail, who has been volunteering for 60 years this year has been nominated for the Pride of Lancashire Award. Fingers crossed. We wish Gail all the best at the Awards Presentation on September 14th.

The Angels were at, and supported, an entertaining show by respected local GP Doctor Clive Barker. Clive has been a GP in Chorley for 31 years and the show was a recollection of his life and work before and during his time in Chorley. All money raised from ticket sales, donations and a raffle, went to the Motor Neurone Disease Society, Clive, you're a superstar!

Two of our Angels, Elinor and Jessica, were very lucky to meet Britain's Got Talent 2018 winner Lost Voice Guy, along with fellow BGT contestant Jonny Awsum supporting, at a performance he did in Chorley Little Theatre as part of his national tour.
